Mic from the South Coast ordered himself a 9'0" Bing Elevator and the colour combo turned out sweet. He's formed into a bit of a Bing fan with also having a Dharma to his specs getting built right now. Might make a trip south to deliver this one and sneak in a few waves while I'm there.Importers of Bing Surfboards and Almond Surfboard Designs directly from California.

Bing Speed Square. 3'11" and beyond...
We just took delivery of our first Bing Speed Square and this little thing is amazing. Just like the Mach-7 we all grew up surfing on when we first hit the water but with a few key elements changed. Huge single concave under the tail and a pair of keel fins, these babies fly. This one is a 4'6" with a 4'2" getting built and a couple of 4'4" on their way over.Click on the Youtube clip below for more details on the board.

9'7" Bing OT Pintail
I took a few snaps of our stock Bing OT Pintail to post on the blog and it just sold. Thought I'd post them anyway to show how good this board really is. Glassed with volan cloth, 5- stringer T-band (cedar + black high density foam + yellow high density foam + black high density foam + cedar), step deck with a single box. Very nice board...Enjoy Simon.

63 Chev Impala wagon
Updated 16-08-11: Started to do a few little changes while the car's still in CA waiting for it's import approval. 1st the 17" American Racing Wheels are gone and replaced with an original set of 63 SS impala hub caps, lucky find thanks to Lincon and his Dad. Now to get the disc brake front end and power steer fitted by Dude (yep, that's his real name) and maybe the luxury of A/C.
About 10 years ago I had a neat left hand drive 57 4 door hard top Chev and we decided to sell it to start our little family. Well we're finally back at a stage where it's time for a new toy. Picked up this neat 63 Chev Impala wagon packed full of goodies. It's still in North Carolina so it could end up being an adventure in itself to get the car to California ready for shipping. Anyone keen on a road trip across the States??? Can't wait.... Sunday, July 3, 2011

Bing Surfboards welcomes Lauren Hill
Bing Surfboards is pleased to welcome environmental advocate, writer, and film-maker, Lauren Hill, to our team and family. Lauren is a Florida native, now living in Byron Bay, Australia where she pursues her passion for surfing, environmental science and a “thoughtful engagement with life.” In addition to being the creator of 31 Days / 31 Ways, a short-film series documenting the love and art of wave riding through a multitude of water crafts, Lauren also recently became an ambassador for Roxy. We’re delighted to have this fascinating young lady join our diverse little group and look forward to following along with her adventures! Pic by Nathan Oldfield.comThursday, June 9, 2011
Raoul @ Sandtrax.
I love the colours in this shot taken by Toby Petley, owner of Oceanstyle Longboards in West OZ of Bing team rider Raoul on his Bing NR Slim. Raoul snuck in a late surf at Sandtrax last week and had it all to himself, makes me want to head over to WA.They both spent a couple of weeks in Java recently, I'll post of few pics and a little wrap up of their trip soon.

New Bing model, the Speed Square.
Inspired by his fond childhood memories on a Mach-77 boogie board, Bing team rider, Chris Del Moro convinced shaper, Matt Calvani to help him recapture the magic in this modern-day twin-finned version called the Speed Square. Because of its short length, Matt added belly in the nose with a quick transition into a hard, tapered rail in the tail so that the board would be quick and responsive. He added a deep straight concave that runs from where your front foot sits through the tail of the board to gain efficiency in glide and maintained thickness in the tail to improve glide and wave-catching ability. The small twin keels maintain a “fin-less” riding quality but still allowing for some control. Ride it short, ride it fast and get ready for a whole lot of fun!Scroll down the blog and watch "Bing Family Tree" vid. An amazing board.

Nico's stitch work & Emi's board
My mate Nico the German makes these amazing 1-off board covers. This 1 was done 100% by hand. Just Nico, a needle and his materials. He made this one plus another for the talented surfer/shaper Jordie Brown.
Nico has also got his girlfriends board for sale. I can't tell you to much about the board except it's 9'3" and in excellent nick. Shoot him an email for more info on the board and his covers boesel.nico@googlemail.com Sunday, May 8, 2011
